The focus is put on those based on voice interaction, but other approaches are also tackled, such as text-based interaction or embodied avatars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Methods<\/strong> PRISMA was selected as the systematic methodology for the analysis of existing literature, which was retrieved from Scopus, PubMed, IEEE Xplore, APA PsycINFO, Cochrane, and Web of Science. Relevant research addresses the detection of depression using conversational agents, and the selection criteria utilized include their effectiveness, usability, personalization, and psychometric properties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Results<\/strong> Of the 993 references initially retrieved, <strong><em>36 were finally included in our work.<\/em><\/strong> The analysis of these studies allowed us to identify<strong> 30 conversational agents<\/strong> that claim to detect depression, specifically or in combination with other disorders such as anxiety or stress disorders. As a general approach, screening was implemented in the conversational agents taking as a reference standardized or psychometrically validated clinical tests, which were also utilized as a golden standard for their validation. The implementation of questionnaires such as Patient Health Questionnaire or the Beck Depression Inventory, which are used in 65% of the articles analyzed, stand out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"701\" height=\"843\" src=\"https:\/\/educaenelfuturo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/PRISMA-Flowchart..jpg\" alt=\"PRISMA Flowchart.\" class=\"wp-image-967\" srcset=\"https:\/\/educaenelfuturo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/PRISMA-Flowchart..jpg 701w, https:\/\/educaenelfuturo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/PRISMA-Flowchart.-249x300.jpg 249w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 701px) 100vw, 701px\" \/><figcaption>PRISMA Flowchart.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conclusions <\/strong>The usefulness of intelligent conversational agents allows screening to be administered to different types of profiles, such as patients (33% of relevant proposals) and caregivers (11%), although in many cases a target profile is not clearly of (66% of solutions analyzed). This study found 30 standalone conversational agents, but some proposals were explored that combine several approaches for a more enriching data acquisition. El an\u00e1lisis de estos estudios permiti\u00f3 identificar 30 agentes conversacionales que afirman detectar la depresi\u00f3n, de forma espec\u00edfica o en combinaci\u00f3n con otros trastornos como la ansiedad o el estr\u00e9s. Como abordaje general, se implement\u00f3 el screening en los agentes conversacionales tomando como referencia pruebas cl\u00ednicas estandarizadas o validadas psicom\u00e9tricamente, las cuales tambi\u00e9n fueron utilizadas como est\u00e1ndar de oro para su validaci\u00f3n. Este estudio encontr\u00f3 30 agentes conversacionales independientes, pero se exploraron algunas propuestas que combinan varios enfoques para una adquisici\u00f3n de datos m\u00e1s enriquecedora.
